GynoKid raises $6000 for local theater!
My hometown crowd packed the house this past weekend in New Canaan, CT.
My solo show The GynoKid is a love letter to my parents and their impact as reproductive healthcare providers in our hometown and beyond. This past weekend, I not only got to perform three shows in my hometown of New Canaan, CT, but I also got to take the stage after every show for a Q&A with the show’s TRUE stars: my mom and dad.
The Q&As were both hysterical and informative. Many folks spoke up about the current threats to reproductive and LGBTQ+ rights, especially the harmful impact of anti-trans legislation on trans adults, trans youth, and their families. They also brought up the dire need for better (AKA not abstinence-only) health programs in schools to properly educate kids about their bodies. The passion in the room was powerful, and I’m proud of so many folks in my hometown for being so vocal over these vital issues and working to make change.
I have always loved the Powerhouse Theatre in Waveny Park. The volunteer-run theater was a major part of my childhood and inspired my love of live theater early on. I even hosted one of my early live readings of EMPIRE WAIST there in 2019. So when the Town Players of New Canaan reached out about performing The GynoKid at the Powerhouse Theatre over Mothers’ Day weekend, it was the easier “yes” ever.
The best part? 100% of ticket sales went directly to the Town Players of New Canaan’s (long overdue) renovation of the Powerhouse Theatre so it can continue to inspire and impact our community for generations to come. Thanks to our incredible audiences, we raised $6000 in funds for the Town Players of New Canaan’s capital campaign!

The GynoKid returns to the Kraine Theater
Mark your calendars! The GynoKid will be running as a monthly show at the Kraine Theatre this June through December, both in-person and online.
We have an exciting new format: The Laugh & Learn. The first half will be my award-winning solo comedy show The GynoKid. Afterward, audiences are welcome to grab a drink and stay for a Q&A with healthcare professionals on a specific health topic.
We’ll be kicking off our run on Friday, June 9th at 7pm ET, and our Q&A topic will be Trans Healthcare. Join us to hear from NYC-based, gender-affirmative healthcare experts as they share vetted information to provide education beyond the headlines.
Tickets for our first three shows (June 9th, July 14th, and August 11th) are available now!
With joy and gratitude,
Claire
